Premium Continental tyres in shopping by WheelAlignmentReading.co.uk? How do winter tyres work? Winter/cold-weather tyres contain more natural rubber than regular tyres, and are constructed from a softer compound. This allows them to stay supple as temperatures drop below 7 degrees C in conditions where a normal tyre becomes hard and less keyed-in to the asphalt. The result? Higher grip levels on the road, even when the tarmac isn’t covered in white. It’s not just all chemistry, though: look at a winter tyre up close, and you’ll see the tread is different to a more conventional tyre. The contact patch of a winter tyre is more rugged: it’s covered in thousands of ‘sipes’ – tiny channels or grooves cut into the rubber which help warm them up – while also displacing water and slush at a faster rate. Winter tyres can have up to 10 times more ‘sipes’ than your average tyres. On snow, these little crevices work together with a larger tread. If you were to use a regular tyre, its channels would quickly become clogged with compacted snow – making for less-than-confident handling. On the down-side, wobbly treadblocks mean cold-weather tyred cars are less responsive in milder conditions.

Continental is a top tire manufacturing company from German. The products of Continental are ranked just behind those of Michelin, Bridgestone and Goodyear. Still, Continental manufactures a full line of original and replacement tires. The high-grade tire is harmoniously combined with all three elements: safety, fuel economy and environmental friendliness. In addition to tires, the company is also a leading automotive supplier of interior electronics, automotive safety, brake systems and other vehicle components. The headquarters of the U.S tire operations is located in Lancaster County, S.C. The company sells General and Continental tire brands.
Like some of the other tyres tested, the Toyo Proxes CF2 is now a few years old, but while several have stuck close to the winners, the Proxes is in need of an update. It has most obviously been surpassed in wet-weather performance, but was closer in the dry, where it came fourth around the handling track. That was despite it feeling a bit soft in comparison to most others, needing a bit more steering lock when committing to corners. This lack of response was also felt in wet tests, where patience was required before accelerating out of a corner and the car’s tail could be felt starting to slide. In the wet braking test, the Toyo took over eight metres further to stop than the top performer. See extra information on Tyres Reading.
If you don’t want to be paying top dollar, like last year I’ll be recommending the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3, Falken Azenis FK510 and Nokian PowerProof. All three of these tyres come in a little under the top three price wise, and offer great grip and comfort, especially the Falken and Nokian. Think of those as more competitors for the comfort bias UHP tyre segment. It’s also DEFINITELY worth looking into the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti, as this has been testing really well this year, and it’s a tyre I really like.
Another novelty of 2019 summer season from the South Korean brand that is replaced the Hankook K117 in the product line. It regularly takes part in independent tests where it makes a decent competition for more expensive brands on dry and wet asphalt. One of the features of the model is the composition of the “Aqua Pine” rubber compound that contains vegetable and pine oils and improves grip on wet roads. Furthermore Korean engineers paid great attention to tire strength. In its construction, an additional reinforcing layer of aramid yarns, a two-layer viscose frame and an increased strength steel belt wire. All this increases the durability of the tire and its reliability at ultra-high speeds.
As a matter of fact, these services are available almost everywhere these days. It is also a remarkable thing to note that most of the companies provide the best services when it comes to repairing your car. Most of them claim to have the best machines that do the task easily and conveniently. However, you need to remember that machines do not do the cleaning on their own. They still need humans to operate them. That is where the difference is created. Discover more information on https://www.wheelalignmentreading.co.uk/.
