This new philosophy has also been apparent in sub-brand Firestone’s Roadhawk, with more focus on optimising the structure and compound of a tyre to improve wet-weather performance. Excellent results were recorded across the disciplines and the Bridgestone was second to just the Continental in wet handling and braking. It also performed well in aquaplaning tests, and on the sodden test track, the T001-shod car felt balanced and precise. The results in the dry were good, too, while the Bridgestone also proved second-quietest for interior noise. It could only manage a middling result for rolling resistance, though. Touring tyres, or highway tyres, are tyres with less focus on sporty handling, and more on comfort, low noise and low fuel use. However, unlike the UHP tyres, we DO have a new challenger for this closely contested segment! Goodyear have released the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2! Sadly, no one in Europe has done a 16″ tyre test this year. I was MEANT to be doing a full 16″ test a few weeks ago, but travelling to france to do the test wasn’t the smartest idea, so that’s been postponed to June. Subscribe for that 🙂 This means for now, we only have a 17″ test, and a TUV test to see how the new Goodyear performs. Of the two, the 16″ TUV test is the most interesting, as it shows the new EfficientGrip Performance 2 wearing 20% better than even the best Michelin can offer, while also having better wet braking performance.

A model from another South Korean brand released in 2013 but still needs the high demands of the market. The tire belongs to the Extreme Performance class and is intended for sports cars. It provides balanced average results on a dry and wet surfaces and therefore is perfect for high-speed and dynamic driving. 2017 summer tire from the legendary French manufacturer. It is logical to assume that the model replaced the new product of 2015 in the product line – Michelin Pilot Sport 4 but it didn’t.
